Matt Hetrick, CPA - President

Matt learned accounting from the ground up, and has held positions of progressive responsibility in the field for over a decade.   His career has been multifaceted, having included CPA, controller, staff accountant, tax researcher, and combat infantry squad leader in Iraq.  With Culinary Accountants he focuses on client management, tax preparation, and enterprise expansion.  Matt works with clients to make C-level managerial decisions and assists them with all aspects of new enterprise planning, expansion, and transactional deals.

He is also an owner-partner in two self-started restaurants in Maryland: Preserve (Ranked #27 in the Washingtonian's 2016 Top 100, named to The Washington Post's 2015 Fall Dining Guide, and Vintage (nominated in 2015 and 2016 for the Restaurant Association of Maryland's 'Best Chef' award).

Sheri Powell, CPA - Partner

Sheri has nearly three decades of progressive accounting experience and spent more than a decade as the controller of preeminent DC restaurants Vidalia and Bistro Bis before joining us a full time senior CPA and cornerstone to our team.  With Culinary Accountants, Sheri draws upon her years of experience in the restaurant accounting trenches to focus on client management, bookkeeper training, and local and federal tax compliance.

Chris Oland - Partner

Chris joined Culinary Accountants in 2011 after spending nearly half a decade as a wealth management adviser. During that time, Chris helped develop wealth strategies for business owners by exploring corporate and personal wealth needs. Upon joining Culinary Accountants, Chris has leveraged his previous business experience in helping restaurateurs navigate the complexities of running their business, while ensuring that the value of their company complements the goals they have for their family.  Chris is currently sitting for the CPA exam. Chris is an owner-partner in Preserve and possesses a wealth of experience in restaurant operational accounting management.
